Premium Window Tint Options: Carbon & Ceramic Films

At iTint, we offer two premium types of window films: Carbon and Ceramic, giving you the choice between high-quality options that suit your needs and budget. Both films provide excellent heat rejection, UV protection, and a sleek finish, but Ceramic Film offers the highest level of heat rejection and clarity, while Carbon Film delivers strong performance with a deep, non-reflective look.

No matter which option you choose, both come with a lifetime warranty, ensuring your tint will never fade, peel, or bubble. Our expert team will help you decide on the day of your appointment, so you get the best solution for your car.

The main difference between Carbon and Ceramic window films lies in their construction and performance. Carbon films, like Global’s Carbon QDP, use carbon particles to block heat and UV rays without fading over time, offering a sleek black finish and good glare reduction. They’re also signal-safe due to their non-metallic structure. Ceramic films, on the other hand, use advanced nano-ceramic particles that provide superior infrared heat rejection, better clarity, and enhanced durability. While both block 99% of UV rays and don’t interfere with electronics, ceramic films outperform carbon in terms of heat rejection, clarity, and overall comfort, making them a more premium choice—especially in hotter climates or for customers seeking top-tier performance.

Uk tinting law

In the UK, vehicle window tinting is regulated by the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986, enforced by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and the police. The legal limits depend on the position of the window:

Front Windshield:
• Must let at least 75% of light through.

Front Side Windows (Driver & Passenger Windows):
• Must let at least 70% of light through.

Rear Side Windows & Rear Windscreen:
• No legal restrictions – you can tint them as dark as you like.

Penalties for Illegal Tints:
• If front windows are too dark, you could receive:
• A prohibition notice, preventing vehicle use until tints are removed.
• A Fixed Penalty Notice (fine).
• Court prosecution, which could result in a higher fine.

Chameleon Windscreens:
• Chameleon tints are legal if they allow 75% light transmission on the windshield.
• Always check the VLT (Visible Light Transmission) of the film before installation.
